Want to finish our basements -- recs?

We would like to have our basement finished -- put in a bedroom, wetbar/kitchen, exercise room, etc. We are in NOVA. Any recs on companies? Any companies to avoid?

We didn't do our basement, but the people before us used Case and probably spent a fortune. However, we have a totally rockin' basement. They did a brilliant job laying out the space to maximize it so we got 2 more BR, a family room, a work room, and a small mud room out of our basement. They did beautiful built-in cabinets and really good recessed lighting. OUr next door neighbors (who live in the same model house) went with Home Depot and it was a disaster. They ended up with Case and it turned out great. Downside is the $$$$. They are super expensive. You're definitely paying for quality and reliability.

Thnx, PP = we look at Case online and came to the conclusion that you have confirmed!! Great work but may be out of our comfort zone price-wise....

We have Hafer Construction coming in next week. But, would still like a couple of options....

I've not used these guys but the Angie's List website has rave reviews for Ant Builders and they seem to be much more moderately priced. (We're thinking of giving them a call about re-doing our dilapidated screen porch).

Home Perfection Contracting, based in Springfield Va., did our basement remodel and we are very happy with the work. Also, the employees are a real pleasure to work with and have in the house with small children.

We had several bids, and I would say they are mid-range in cost.
