Just put it on my tab

Anonymous
I always tell my kids (jokingly) that I'm going to present them with a bill when they turn 18 for all the money I've spent on them. If we are at the store and I've picked up a couple of things for them, I'll say, "I'm putting this on your tab." It's a joke, right? My 9 year old asked me for something and I said no, it's too expensive. He breezily responded with "Just put it on my tab." I don't think he realizes it's a joke. Anyway, made me chuckle; thought I'd share.

You set yourself up for that one, OP!

My dd has a coordination disorder and low muscle tone, so writing by hand is very difficult for her. Her 3rd grade teacher shared with me that one day, the teacher had told dd that there was a way for dd to get her writing typed for her. Before the teacher could explain voice-to-text-software, dd exclaimed, “I’m only 9 years old! Where do you think I’d get that kind of money?!” Apparently, dd thought her teacher was suggesting paying off a classmate.

My dad still says this to me. I'm 34. Haven't seen the bill yet.
