Do you tip when the restaurant brings your pick up order out to your car?

At establishments that you can pull up and they bring your pick up order out to you, do you tip the person that brings it? Obviously, if they drove to our house I would. But do you when you drive to them, they just run out to bring it to you? I felt awkward later when I didn't tip the guy that ran our pizza out.

I do, but only 10%. I used to be a server at T.G.I Fridays and the servers used to rotate around and had to handle the pick-up orders on various nights. Those shifts were the worst because not everyone would tip. I would still take the orders (over the phone), package and bag up the food, and handle the bill. I think they said 15% was still the norm for those orders, but I have to admit, it was a lot less work than serving a table (which include serving drinks/refills, and clean-up). That's why I only tip 10%. I wouldn't feel right leaving no tip. The server still only makes $2.?? (or whatever base it is now) per hour including whatever tips they bring in. Maybe other restaurants offer tables to those who handle pick up orders too, but that was not my experience.

No.

yes, $1-2 depending on what I ordered and how much work it was to get it out the door.

same here, around 10% or $2. (more if it's raining and i'm feeling generous.) I also tip whoever puts together my takeout order if I'm picking up something inside. Again, 10% or $1-$2. I figure if I can afford to spend $10 on a sandwich or $20 on a steak from Outback, I can afford the extra buck or two.
