An Amateur's Question on Getting Videotape

| My DS is a HS junior, playing club soccer (CCL). I'd like to start to videotaping his games, to send clips to college coaches, but I have no idea where to start. Do people use their digital SLR cameras to record video? Buy a special video recorder? I've tried on my cell phone, but that hasn't gone very well.... |

You can buy your own camcorder and a 72" tripod if you want to be hands on. I've also heard a lot of good things about SoloShot. |

Depends on how professional you want to be. If your HS has stadium like seating, a camcorder and a tripod will probably be good enough.
Capturing the video is only part of the fun. You'll probably spend more time editing them. |
