Is Carhartt warm when it comes to kids jackets for a DC area winter?

I see reviews some say winter in Kansas suitable etc but others say spring jacket for the same exact jackets.

How do they fare locally?

We have a Columbia bunting and baby’s hands were still freezing cold underneath during a zoo visit recently.
