Hello,
I am going for a post coital test tomorrow, and an HSG. I am nervous for both! My TMI question: we will have sex in the AM, as instructed, before the test. I'll shower, but I am unnecessarily worried about the post-sex smell! Please excuse the TMI, but I feel like I "leak" and it gets smelly. I'm assuming nothing phases the doctor...I mean, he asked for the test. Right? And for the HSG...how much does it hurt?!? Thanks. |

Like you said, you are unnecessarily worried. I had a couple of HSG's a long time ago - I don't recall it being anything more than a bit uncomfortable. |

| I was told that I might have cramps/pain afterwards but did not feel a thing. I don’t think your doctor will be “close” enough to smell anything, in any event you shouldn’t worry about this. |

| My HSG was completely painless. I had a tiny bit of spotting afterwards, but went back to work that same day. It was just like a pap. If you have a blocked tube I have heard it can be painful. Either way, it probably would not hurt to take Motrin before the procedure if you are worried. do not think twice about the issue you are worried about for the post quite all test. They see everything and anything that might be going on with you is like a 1 on a scale of 100 of yuck. Good luck! |
