I'd wait to see what they find out. These so often turn out to be faked in order to "raise awareness" of racism on campus.

I think they will discover that this was done by a resident not a student. Central New York is MAGA country.

No because these incidents, particularly those publicized so quickly, have often turned out to be hoaxes.

I've heard from faculty of color there that it's been very stressful, and that there have been several racists incidents on campus recently, so the manifesto is not an isolated incident.

The WaPo article said one incident was caught on surveillance (frat boys yelling the n word at a female student).

Not sure why everyone here is so quick to dismiss these incidents, but not surprised.

Syracuse is cold and not very diverse. I think there was probably too much drinking going on, which leads to all kinds of negative behavior. Safety of all students should be the number one concern. Hopefully, Syracuse can swiftly punish offending students and guaranty the safety of all.

Not quick to dismiss anything but last time I witnessed this personally it turned out to be a hoax. Look up St. Olaf incident. Girl just skated, even though what she did was criminal. Caught her when they realized she’d run off a bunch of the fake hate notes on the copier. She basically said “uh yeah well I’m off to study abroad so whatever”. School just wanted it to go away so they didn’t pursue her, but she’s a lying scumbag.

It manifesto wasn’t the only incident. The other was also covered in the link you shared and students have been disciplined for it.
