Rav4 or CRV?

We are trying to decide between the 2020 Toyota RAV4 or Honda CR-V. Please help me decide. We will drive this for as long as possible. Any input appreciated. Thank you!

Seriously, you can't go wrong with either. It comes down to safety features and cost.

Have and love a RAV. Was much more comfortable to me - just like driving a sedan. Other people love the CRV. Like PP said you can’t go wrong.

You can't go wrong. I don't even think it comes down to safety features and cost -- they're too similar. It comes down to personal taste. Take them for a test drive and see which you like better.

(We were deciding between these two a couple of years ago and went RAV4 because we wanted a hybrid and Honda didn't have one yet. But I think they've come out with one since?)

i debated between the 2018 of both models. Ended up going with the crv because cargo area was slightly bigger, not by much, but we have 2 dogs so it mattered slightly. I also ( and don't laugh) preferred the interior design of the cupholders etc in the crv.

the only downside so far is the placement of the buckles for the seatbelts in the back. if you need to put 3 kids back there its awkward because the middle buckle overlaps one of the side belt buckles. Not a huge issue for us because we only have one kid. I noticed it one day when i had 3 back there though.

2020 CRVs look great.

Check out the Rav4 hybrid, I think this would seal the deal for me on the Rav4 side vs Honda.

Both really small.

The RAV4’s look so stylish these days. I was in my friend‘s RAV4 and she had special leather seating, I was really impressed. Super nice.

One thing you might have a preference on is how the screen is integrated (or not) into the dash.

I have a CRV and like how the screen is IN the dash. For the RAV4, the screen stick up/out of the dash. You might have a preference on whether that is bothersome or not.

Bought a 2019 Rav4 Hybrid in June. I really like it, and have been getting between 40-45 mpg.

RAV4.

Honda has had issues with CVT's lately.

Get the RAV4.
We're Honda family, and our next SUV will be the 2020 CR-V. The CR-V (2017-2018) had problem with fuel dilution (fuel getting into oil when short tripped), but Honda seems to fix it with software update. There are concerns about long term reliability of the turbo charged engine in general (CR-V has 1.5 L turbo engine). So, to be safe, get the boring Toyota RAV4.

The RAV4 was redesigned for 2019. It's bigger than the previous generation. Not cheap - you're looking at $35K for one of the top trim lines on the Hybrid. Still, the pickup is fantastic for a hybrid, the engine feels powerful.

The XSE trim line version has a bunch of different AWD options for driving in rain, snow, gravel, mud, etc. I think the 2020's recently came on the lot, so you may be able to get a solid deal on a 2019.
