ISO pants for tall skinny teen boy: 31 X 34 or Tall Medium

Anonymous
My 14 y.o. had a growth spurt over the summer, and now I'm having a hard time finding pants that fit. Old Navy, our old standby, does not make this size, and even Tall Medium is hard to come by (online anyway) as most Big & Tall sections have Large Tall as the smallest size.

I know these pants are out there! Anyone know where I can find them? TIA

I had to order my kid Levi’s online to get the right size.

Target, Gap, all the stores especially on line have it.

My son is the same size. I just ordered some from Old Navy. They won’t carry that size in stores but you can order from gap/gap outlet/old navy, American Eagle, etc.

Mine are similar size. I usually order Gap or Old Navy 32x34 and they have an adjustable waistband to take it down to 31.

I got these for my 14 year old and they fit him well and seem to be good quality.

My son is a 28 x 34, so a tall small. They do exist, but hard to find! Entering "tall small" or "28 x 34" on Amazon got me some options, so you could try that. Also, American Eagle. Not expensive, you can get whatever waist/length you need and they have all sorts of jeans and pants.

We are having trouble with sweat pants and hoodies - everything too baggy and not long enough in the ankle or wrist, but very few tall sized teen athletic wear options.

My tall, skinny son loves these. They come in tall and are lean. https://www.underarmour.com/en-us/mens-ua-sportstyle-joggers/pid1290261?scid=scplp1290261-001_Medium&sc_intid=1290261-001_Medium&cid=PLA%7CUS%7CNB%7CGGL%7CMOB%7CSiC%7CROAS%7C&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_On1m8X25QIVB6SzCh1Epwp6EAQYAyABEgKGYfD_BwE

Hoping for a few more ideas here. My 12 yr old is 30 x 32. I think he grew 3 inches this summer and had already outgrown all his pants at the beginning of the summer so he has zero pants. And now i need to find the elusive “tall small” size for him. I spent all morning online just to find what i now see is recommended here- a pair of levi’s from amazon and a pair of cargo pants from old navy. hopefully they will fit. Really could use some comfy sweat pants, joggers, track pants- whatever they are called so he can be comfortable sitting at his desk on the computer for the upcoming school year. And if anyone knows what the tall small inseam is for joggers at American eagle, that would be really helpful! It is not listed on their size chart. Thanks!

I order my 15 year old skinny kid wit long legs a 29Wx34L or 30Wx34L pants through Gap. I get the "skinny" pants and have to put a reminder on because they are often sold out.

30x32 isn’t that hard of a size to find - most stores will have that, although they might not have much of a selection, so if you’re after a certain wash or fit, might need to order online. The “young mens” brands and stores like Express or American Eagle are more likely to have the smaller waist sizes. 31x34 is harder to find though. I’m not sure if we stocked that in stores (I worked in the men’s department at Dillard’s for 2 years and then in men’s and misses at Kohl’s for another 2 years). We did stock 32x34 though if that could be an option and maybe he could wear a belt with it.

Thanks. I found some adidas sweatpants on amazon that listed the inseam as 32 so i am going to try those. I feel like his length is too short to fit special “tall” sizes and too long to fit traditional “regular“ sizes which tend to be 28 from what i was seeing. Takes some getting used to shopping for mens pants (For a 12 yr old) and time learning how mens sizes work.

Mine is a 27x34. It’s hard. I do gap or American eagle online (they go down to a 28 waist though not in everything) and then sew two tiny tucks in the waistband. I can’t find any track pants that work even with tucks and have given up on those.
