Christmas Eve service at National Cathedral

We have tickets to the 10:00 PM Christmas Eve service at the cathedral and our guests from out of town are curious about what to wear. They're from California, so they feel clueless about how to dress for such a service here. I promised them a wider swath of opinion than just ours, knowing that DCUMs are often helpful in matters of dress. What do you suggest? Thanks for your help!
