I am looking for a casual but nice black skirt. Not too tight, a little above the knee, for wear with black tights, cool riding boots and a nice sweater.
Does such an animal exist? Where should I look? |
| I like Theory black skirts. |
| Do you want pencil skirt or a bit of a flair at the bottom? Sometimes I find the latter more casual... |
| I agree with the PP re: casualness. However, my favorite black skirt is a black pencil skirt I got at Banana Republic. Hard to go wrong with a pencil skirt though! |

Go to Bloomingdale's during the day when it's not so busy. Find someone and describe what you want. The ladies there really know the inventory of the dept.. Let them find a skirt for you. And tell them your price range. I've done this for dresses, suits, etc. they are awesome there.
Good luck |
| Which Bloomingdale's do you recommend? |

I got the perfect black skirt (for me) yesterday at Ann Taylor. They have black in the store, and yesterday everything in the store was 40% off. With some stretch but not clingy. Elastic top allows for perfect fit, but the fabric is thick so you can't tell it's elastic. Very slimming silhouette. No slit, which makes it more office appropriate and versatile. |

OP here. Thanks for all the responses. I ended up getting this one at the Gap - with after-holiday sales it was marked down to $12! It looks great and I would have paid a lot more!
