Where would DMV area DA and ECNL teams finish in state cup?

What state cup champs in DMV are better than their age and gender counterparts in DA, ECNL? Or better said, where would the DA and ECNL teams (and NPL) teams finish in MD or VA state cup final brackets?

In the age group I’m familiar with, girls U18/19, state champ Beach would not have been in the top 4 - McLean and FCV would kill them, and BRYC and Richmond would beat them rather easily

My guess is as you get older the difference between the ECNL/DA teams and those doing state cup gets bigger. So at the U13 level it would be more competitive.

Pipeline 05 might evolve given HS and DA but the team dominated ECNL teams for the past two years. That is a fact and varifiable.

Rec teams playing together since age 4 can beat U19 DA squads.

In 2003 boys group, one of the state cup finalists, Arlington, lost to an ECNL team 1-7 in the OBGC tournament. Overall, DA and ECNL are at a higher level than the teams that play in the state cup.

Boys and girls are different and MD and VA are different. VA has 7 DA/ECNL and MD has 3. MD does not have ECNL or DA girl teams on the same level as McLean or FCV so it is possible that certain non-ECNL/DA team can beat ECNL/DA teams, especially at the u13/u14 ages.

But the idea that the State Cup and National Cup represents the best teams is nonsense. Sadly, this has become a money grab and parents are to stupid and involved to realize it. Consider the money spent to last year to travel to CA or KS for the national playoffs for DA/ECNL or US Youth Soccer.

State cup winners Alexandria 05 boys beat VDA 3-0 and tied DCU 2-2 in August.

DA may have the highest concentration of the best players, but the same definitely cannot be said about the coaches.

Arlington 04 DA (da team from last year) came in 2nd.
