Are you done Christmas shopping? What did you get parents/in-laws?

I’m at a total loss this year. I feel like I’m completely out of ideas. I was hoping to be done by November, yet here we are. I know I’m not alone, right?

If you bought (or plan to buy) something noteworthy, please share here!

Dad: Box of oranges and grapefruits. Stepmom: Amyrillis bulbs. Mom: Chocolate from Burdick's.

Done??? I haven't even started!

Haven't started yet. My mom likes to get pampered but is too frugal to spring for the treatments, so I will probably buy her a spa gift certificate. No ideas for dad and in laws yet.

None whatsoever, thank goodness. We all agreed no gifts for adults, just each other's company.

An activity gift is always a good one - parents/ILs usually have plenty of stuff and are often looking to downsize.

How about a gift card/tickets for a comedy club, theater, music, movie tickets, restaurant voucher, etc.

Nada. Zip. This is insanity.

We don't do adult gifts in my family, and we draw names in DHs. They usually do it around Thanksgiving, so I have no idea who we'll have yet and therefore haven't done any shopping. But everyone provides at least one suggestion that is within the budget so usually it's just a few clicks on Amazon and we're done. The kids I give gifts to are ages 12 - 18 and basically want cash/gift cards which makes my life very easy.

+1 So glad.

Sheesh. These people are the hardest ones on my list. They all want $100 gifts too plus nice personalized things from the kids and photo gifts. I spend nearly all my time on their gifts. I'm truly at a blank this year on the gifts, but I have decided on the kids ornament (footprint ornaments that I draw faces on) and chatbooks from the year with kids pics (this takes me FOREVER to do). I hate to feel like a grinch, but I think Christmas should be for the kids. Every year our parents get great gifts from all their other kids (we're the only ones with kids and I think everyone else has tons of free cash and time) so no one wants to stop adult gifts.

Well, what are you waiting for, Black Friday?

I haven’t at all started. Who does it this early?

Last year we took scratch off lottery cards to the in-laws and they liked them (my DH's family is not big on gifts).

No idea what I'm getting my mom yet. Might do a SW or AA gift card. Will likely give something cute from the grandbaby to everybody - photo in a frame or something?

I’ve been thinking about getting my parents a family photo session with a professional photographer. My mom loves taking family photos so I’m hoping she’ll enjoy not having to worry about who is taking the photo and just relax.

Always a good idea for parents and ILs:

-Box of pears and other delicious items from Harrry & David

-Gift card to their favorite restaurant
