We're getting a Honda Odyssey. I know it will be a good choice for us but its hard to get excited about it. DH has no preference on color and is leaving it all to me. I'm really torn and can't decide. I've ruled out white because it seems like that is the most popular color in my neighborhood by far. I think I have it narrowed down to:
Lunar Silver https://www.hondaofchantilly.com/auto/new-2020-honda-odyssey-exl-chantilly-va/39933888/ Modern Steel Metallic https://www.hondaofchantilly.com/auto/new-2020-honda-odyssey-exl-chantilly-va/40346805/ or Black https://www.hondaofchantilly.com/auto/new-2020-honda-odyssey-exl-chantilly-va/40346802/ (I'm worried about dirt and visibility of minor scratches on the black.) Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, I'm so indecisive. |
| Silver. I don't like black minivans and everyone has steel (including me!). |
| I personally like metallic one. looks nice. |

Either silver or steel. The black is hard to keep clean on the outside.
Do these colors restrict your interior colors at all? Again, avoid black and that beige/saddle. Gets too dirty. If you've never had a minivan before, get a set of the mats. I think they're weathertec? They're awesome and can be taken out to clean. My carwash guys literally scrub them with a scrubbing broom and soap, then dry and replace. Put them into the cabin and the trunk. Muddy cleats, muddy dogs, boxes of cheerios, leaking gallons of milk or water bottles are no longer a tremendous problem! |

9:59 here again.
I meant to say that we were also not at all excited about getting a minivan, but it is a great car when you have a bunch of kids and you carpool a lot! And the sliding doors are so helpful in this crowded area where the parking lots are totally inadequate. You will learn to love it! |
| I wish minivans came in more exciting colors. |
OP here. Me too. I'm leaning toward the silver but I just wish it was a more exciting silver. Had more undertones or something. Its a pretty flat ordinary silver, although I will say I think it looks more interesting in person than in photos. It seems like the most practical choice from a hiding dirt/scratches perspective and cooler in the summer. To the PP who mentioned interior: Honda does not have a black leather. The choices are light gray or dark brown (they call mocha.) There is also beige but not in any of the exterior colors I'm considering. I'm leaning towards the gray (carpets are all grayish black no matter what the seats are.) because the mocha is just a little too...brown? I don't know. Sort of looks like a melted hershey bar. Its popular though - I guess because people think it will hide messes but I just don't know if I can live with the entire inside of my car being dark brown. |
| Modern steel |
I mentioned interior color. We had light gray in our old Odyssey (the one with the awesome mats) and now have a darker gray in our Sienna. The gray is good. It gets dirty, but you see it soon enough and can clean it without feeling like a crazy person who constantly wipes down their car interior. I'm with you about the mocha. Who wants a dark brown car interior?? |
OP here. Yes I’ve pretty much decided against the mocha interior but literally all of my friends who bought a minivan in the past couple of years have chosen the mocha! It’s so popular. I have girls and we are fairly tidy (plus the carpets are dark regardless) so I’m not too worried about the gray. I’m leaning toward the silver I think simply because the Modern Steel seems almost as popular as the white. So it will be silver and gray. Pretty bland but I guess that’s fine. Husband wants me to just decide already. |
