How long will mixed, from-the-box hair color stay good?

How long does mixed hair color stay good? I have thick shoulder length hair that I colored myself for the first time 4 weeks ago. I needed 1 and 1/2 boxes of color and I saved the other half of the mixed hair color I didn't use. Can I use it again in the future?

I wouldn't. I think it starts going bad within hours. In the future, you can mix equal portions of the color and the developer, leaving the leftovers separate. And those "can" be freshly mixed and used later.

next time you'll probably only need one box because you be concentrating on your roots.
