| I would like to purchase a pair of shearling boots for my mother this Christmas. She does not care a bit about name brands...and if I get her the EMUs brand, I can also afford to get her lots of other fun presents. Is there any real difference between the two? Will she be just as warm and comfy in the less expensive EMUs? |

Never tried Uggs but have Emus that I love. They are extremely comfy and warm and don't think you can go wrong. Note that I have the sheepskin Emus (I think called Stinger?) which is what the Uggs are made of. There will be a difference in quality if you buy the less expensive Emus made with merino wool.
Interestingly the term "uggs" in Australia refers to a type of boot. Americans brought idea over here and turned into a company and name brand. So in reality Emus are smaller case "uggs" just not the brand name. They are made in Australia also. But again I never tried a pair of Uggs so can't give you a direct comparison. |
| Thanks, your response was perfect! I went ahead and ordered the sheepskin EMUs. I hope she likes them! |
| Love my Uggs, but mostly wear them around the house as slippers and to the woodpile to get fire wood. Warm and cozy. I've had them for probably 5 years and they still feel great! |

Uggs are made in China (not Australia!).
Where are EMU's made? |
| If you don't care about brand name, I was actually going to suggest the Ugg knock-offs from Costco. So inexpensive but super warm and well made. Good luck! |
