| I ran into grocery store during lunch and saw a very handsome guy. It looked like he was on lunch break as well. We passed each other a couple of times while shopping, and definitely checked each other out. I paid for my stuff and hang out by registers waiting for my coworker to finish her shopping. I saw him leaving out and we made eye contact and I smiled. This has happened before where I am interested and think they may be interested but can't figure out a way how to approach. Any tips? |
| First, check his hand. Even if there's not a ring, check for a tan line on the ring finger. |
| “Hey, would you like to get coffee? We can discuss why you carry a banana in your pocket. |

Check out his shopping cart, pick out something in there and ask him where he got it. Oh, where did you find the _____, I was looking for that. I'm here with a Co-worker and I don't know the store that well. Don't think I'm an airhead but would you have a minute to show me?
That's your icebreaker. Now you have a little time to let him know your interest. So do you come here for lunch every day? Hmm, now that I know it's a lunch hotspot, I'll have to come more often. Do you just take it back to the office or is there somewhere closeby to eat outside on a nice day. Really? You'll have to show me sometime. |

OP here - I actually like this |
If he's got a nice sized cucumber in his cart just pick it up and smile seductively. He will take it from there. |
|
Look him in the eye, smile, and say something brief but friendly, like "oh the Nats broke my heart" (if he is wearing Nationals gear}, or "this is my first time here, do you know where the eggs are?".
If he reciprocates with a friendly response, then you can take it one step further by extending your hand and introducing yourself, "hi, I'm Mary, I'm also a Nats fan, it's a pleasure to meet you", or "hi, I'm Mary, thanks for helping me find the eggs." After that, the ball is his court. |
| Women have more latitude in how they approach than men do because women aren't as scary. |
This really made me cringe. Especially the "don't think I'm an airhead" part. |
Me too. |

Well, if she asked about hitting on a woman, I would have offered different advice. |
