| I want to stay in and bake. Any simple ideas? Thanks |

Sugar cookies, of course. You can go out and shovel while the dough is chilling.
But my favorite is gingerbread. Not cookies, the actual bread. Served warm with a dollop of whipped cream, or eaten cold later with cream cheese. |

I jus stopped by Trader Joe's to pick up the fixings for our Christmas specialty -- pepperoni bread.
1 bag pizza dough 8 slices provelone cheese, diced 12 slices pepperoni (or a bag of pizza pepperoni, or about half a stick of pepperoni) - diced spread pepperoni and cheese on pizza dough and roll it up into a loaf, bake at 350 for about 35 minutes. Yum! |

These are my favorite winter cookie - Ginger crisps, with crystallized ginger:

I'm making meatloaf-I'm going to grate the breadcrumbs myself which I would never do if I could leave the house today. The last 20 minutes of baketime the loaf will be glazed with a brown sugar and ketchup paste-yum (can you tell I'm already getting stir-crazy?)

| I'm making fudge. Never tried it - went out and bought a candy thermometer yesterday - apparently I was not the only one with the idea, as the store had only two left when I went in at 4 p.m. - and it both were display models! I can't wait. |

We made Martha Stewart's Surprise Cookies (receipe on her website), but basically are a chocolate drop cookie with a marshmallow hidden under some chocolate frosting. Yummy!
Also, I am making some gingerbread white chocolate bars from her website too! |
You can do these with a cherry too - my favorite! They are called "Buried Cherries" Just finished 4 dozen (not just me) |

Bake your favorite winter indulgence.
(Mine is plain old cake with chocolate frosting). |
Doesn't sound plain-sounds yummy. Your house is going to smell soooo good! Happy Holidays! |
