What to wear to the Nutcracker - in a snowstorm?

Anonymous
We bought tickets for the Nutcracker at Warner Theater this morning. Found out about the snow this afternoon.

What should I wear? I was looking forward to dressing up, but I don't want to freeze my toes off/fall on my butt.

Any suggestions (that don't involve extensive or expensive shopping)? To what extent would it be more casual based on the weather? (not talking jeans, just wondering about black pants with black leather boots or something)

OP here. Our tickets are for Saturday night, during/after a 5+ inch snowfall. We'll have a 45 min (or more) drive each way.

Thanks!

Some people dress to the nines for the evening shows, and some dress more casually. You'll be fine in black pants with black leather boots. Hope you love the show.

FYI, my child is one of the dancers, and we have been informed that the show will go on no matter what the weather brings!

Wishing your child and the other dancers just the right amount of maird. We'll be there Sunday. For OP, I would have very good confidence that the area around the theater (and whichever garage you choose) will have well-cleared sidewalks.

I would wear a stout red jerkin, tight black pants, and a nice warm bearskin hat.

Well in that vein, I'll suggest a big Mother Gigone skirt with a bunch of little clowns tumbling out.

Make sure you check the theater's web site tomorrow. If we really do end up getting the predicted 10-15 inches, the show might be cancelled.

I'm the OP - have been away all day. Thank you so much for all your feedback! We haven't had a date in two months - crossing my fingers for safe roads!

Sounds like I have some options - thanks everyone!

OP again. The show may be going on, but we'll be staying home. I was really disappointed last night, but gearing up for fondue and It's a Wonderful Life!. DH even bought me egg nog (which he hates). Oh, well. Here's to another Date Night at Home.
