| According to their twitter feed. I’m glad it is out so early but that seems like a late start. |

When will the school year end? July?!
And do they not realize that pushing the start back a week means another long thread here on whether the missing week amounts to a paycut? |
| Thanks for the heads up’ |
Thanks for the laugh. Good times, DCUM, good times. |
| Ugh. |
| An 11-week summer. Great. Last summer was 10 and I think previous years were just nine. |
| Welp there goes the family budget I had just reworked. |
As the tweet says, the rest of the calendar is tbd. They will probably curtail winter or spring break to keep school from sliding too late into summer. |

What am I Missing? This is consistent with last year: the Monday before Labor Day (which is late next year, Sept. 7, 2019).
And if the last day is June 19, then it's a 10-week summer, not an 11-week summer.... |
Let me try that again without the typos.... What am I missing? This is consistent with last year: the Monday before Labor Day (which is late next year, Sept. 7, 2020). And if the last day is June 19, then it's a 10-week summer, not an 11-week summer.... |
Argh, you're right. 10-week summer. Carry on. |
Actually, I'm not. PP is right; it's an 11-week summer. Well that sucks. |
Last day of school is June 19 (assuming no snow-day makeups), so the following M-Fs will be summer break: June 22-26 June 29-July 3 July 6-10 July 13-17 July 20-24 July 27-31 Aug. 3-7 Aug. 10-14 Aug. 17-21 Aug. 24-28 I count 10. |

Wow. I have one kid in DCPS and one in a private and their summers will almost match.
Great for our family but I sympathize with everyone else. |
| I think they will drop the Feb. break with this late start. |
