Experiences with Independent Dealership

Have you bought a used car at an independent or non-major franchise dealership before? Can you share your experience or advantages or disadvantages?

If they offer financing, their interest rate is usually very high.
They claim they can finance anyone....bankruptcy, judgments, etc. which they do.
But they tend to offer crazy high interest rates %.

Also, they sell their cars “as is” or very limited warranties.
And many of their cars are bought at auction, salvaged or have been in an accident, then refurbished.

Buyer beware.
Better to buy from a brand name@ dealer.
