ovulation pain

I have been TTC for over 2 years with no success (I am 32). Every month around CD 14, 15 or 16, I have a dull ache on my lower left side, which I presume is because I am ovulating (there is CM present also). I have never felt a similar pain on the right side, even during a stimulated IUI cycle in which my lead follicles were shown as coming from the right ovary. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Does pain on one side mean that is the side you ovulate on, or could it mean something else?
