We will be travelling to Cancun and was hoping to buy Organic Whole Milk for my daughter there. Does anyone know if it is available in the grocery stores there?
I was also looking into taking shelf-stable milk from here - but Horizon only sells Vanilla, Chocolate and 2% in their milk boxes. Any suggestions? |
| I don't know if they have it or not, but having regular milk for a few days probably won't affect her. We do organic milk, but don't bother when we are away. Or, just take the 2% with you. Again, a few days won't make a difference. |
| If you're this neurotic, going to Mexico probably isn't a good idea. |
| My thoughts exactly. OP - Havent you heard about the crime and swine flu? I'd worry more about that then organic milk. |

We always traveled with shelf stable milk when by son was young - easiest way to not worry about finding milk when you're desperate.
I think WF sells another brand that has organic whole milk. |

There is shelfstable 1% milk at whole foods now. I forget the brand (one of the major organic brand- you would recognize the package). At least at the WF in Glover Park there are on the shelf closer to the bottom- individual drink boxes. I'm assuming that might be better for you than the 2%?
We were in Cancun a couple years ago, I don't remember seeing organic milk, but we didn't look either. We brought alot of stuff for the kids with us, just because we thought it would be easier. Have fun on your trip! |

OP here - thank you for the helpful responses. I took Giant-brand shelf-stable whole milk with us, and my DD didn't like the taste. In Cancun, the hotel had shelf-stable whole milk (in large boxes) but again, the taste was different than fresh milk so she didn't drink it. 2% also tastes different (she is used to drinking Horizon organic whole milk at home).
Anyway, it was a short trip and she survived without milk for a few days! Ice cream helped. |
| Where did you find the organic ice cream? |
Ha! |
