Buy out or buy new?

Please help me make a decision:
Lease coming to an end of 2017 Jeep Patriot. Car is ok in general, but I am not excited about it. No issues so far except for small electrical glitches. I can buy it out for 16300, hoping I can negotiate it down a little bit. Would need financing with substantial downpayment. I received a great offer on 2019 Honda CR-V which I really enjoy. Same downpayment just bigger loan for financing. What to do?? Shall I stay with Jeep or buy a new modern Honda?? |

Newer = lower maintenance costs. Also safety technology is improving rapidly so the 2019 model is more likely to have blind spot monitoring, lane-keeping assistance, etc etc.
The entire line of Jeeps usually gets the worst rating from Consumer Reports when it comes to reliability and repair costs. |
