PT rec for baseball injury for high schooler

Anonymous
Looking for a PT recommendation for a baseball injury (shoulder, wrist) for a high schooler. Especially interested in recommendations in Rockville, Bethesda, Potomac.

Elite Physical Therapy in DC is where we took our son for sports PT. Did you also go to an orthopedist? I'd be really nervous about just doing PT for shoulder stuff.

Yes. We went to an orthopedist and he recommended PT. What’s your concern with pT for shoulders?

Nothing against PT for shoulders, I was just thinking that if that’s all you were doing it wouldn’t be ideal.

Sorry I'm being unclear. If your orthopedist prescribed PT then you're all good, whether or not that was the only thing prescribed or it's in conjunction with other treatment.

My concern was that you might be doing what we occasionally did with DS's minor sports injuries over the years, namely going straight to the PT when we figured we (and PT) understood the injury well enough (and it was minor enough) to not bother going to sports medicine doc or orthopedist. Since that's not what you did, sounds like you're all good.

I injured both shoulders as a teenager, and they bothered me off and on for many years, so shoulder stuff makes me more nervous than other injuries. But again, if you went to the orthopedist, then you're good.

Thanks, PP. Anyone else have any PT recommendations for sports in general or specifically baseball?
