| How pissed would you be if you bought tickets to see this garbage? |
I’d expect it and pass. The US sucks at soccer. This is not a soccer friendly culture, on the whole. |
|
Let’s get the excuses and rationalizations out of the way first so we can focus on proper critiques.
Ream, Bradley, Roldan, Morris, Zardes, amongst others, should not be getting significant minutes, to put it kindly. |
They have to meet the quota of MLS based players. Rather than bringing this bunch with no upside, it would have been better to bring some of the young players who made it to the quarterfinals of U20 world cup. |
| don't forget Pulisic missed the easy goal |
Yes, Pulisic played like crap. If I was the Chelsie coach, this game validates why he is not a starter and gets little, if any minutes. Pulisic was pulled early in the second half and he threw a tantrum. But he was not producing at all. The rest of the US team had no heart. Nobody checking to the ball in the final 3rd for passes, no creativity and no heart. Ranks as one of the worst games I have seen from the young squad yet. |
| Pulisic did not have a good game, but you have to keep him in there because he can give you a moment of quality. Ream at leftback is a glaring hole and provides no width, while Bradley as the 6 is another glaring hole, a slow pivot who provides no cover. Seeing Zardes come on as a second striker tells you everything you need to know about the current team and GB. |
Taking out Pulisic with 0-0 score and keeping the likes of Bradley, Lovitz, Roldan on the field was the height of stupidity. |
| Pulisic was ill/sick which was why he was taken out. But some of those old timers never should have made the roster. |
Let's go deeper. The DA & College Soccer, both of which are not preparing kids to play in the international game. |
| How dare you say the DA is not preparing kids to play in the International game. Every DA parent I know proudly wears their DA patches and tells everyone that will listen that their kid is in the DA. Now you say they arent preparing the kids? |
| DA and college soccer are preparing players to play in sanitized DA and college environments. |
It’s always interesting going on those oversea soccer trips. The US travel coaches will push out their athletic all star to show the Europeans coaches how well the US is doing. With 5 minutes the European coaches have identified the technical player with a high soccer IQ and are giving them all their attention. The same player who is an after though to the travel coach. |
+1 We have been to Europe a lot over the last 5 years for soccer invites and events. I can tell you that the recognized top players here are seldom the ones the European cultures pull out of the mix of US players. It's inevitably a kid from the US on nobody's radar, overlooked. Unfortunately, USNMT/DA is a network of coaches promoting only their players. This is the results we get. But, frankly they wouldn't no how to properly coach or develop those other kids anyways. |
