First, excuse the fact that I’m a planner and already thinking of holiday time tips.
First year with a private/not town rec team. Should I add my coach to my holiday tip list? Or is this something the team parent organizes? Our coach is awesome and I really like his approach to coaching - equal play, team only meetings, etc. He’s our coach fall and spring seasons. |

Most teams have a parent who will bring this topic up and collect money or whatever people want to do. Don’t expect the team manager to do it.
Some people will give, some won’t. |
| Most clubs figure it in with team fees. the team manager should already be on top of it. But you can always do a little something extra for your child individually like a gift card. |
| Unless it is a rec team with volunteer coaches, there is no need to tip the coach. You are already playing $$$$ to the club, which pays the coach. |
| Volunteer coach monetary gift is ok. For a paid coach a monetary gift is bad form--too easy to be seen as attempt to buy playing time/preference. Thus the tradition of contributing to a team gift. |
