Infertility Support and Discussion

Has anyone done this IVF protocol. I had my first IVF cycle cancelled for poor response on the long lupron protocol. The doctor put me on this one for the next cycle based on my day 3 number and the fact that I didn't respond well to the standard protocol. I only produced 3 follicles on the long lupron cycle.
At this point I'm just worried about producing follicles. For those of you who did it, did you have a better response? Did it end up working for you, that is, did you get pregnant? TIA. |
| I did a micro dose flare protocol with Dr. Gordon at Dominion Fertility and it worked after 3 failed cycles at another clinic. I didn't make a lot of follicles, 4 but it was enough for a healthy baby. GL |
i've heard stories about how this protocol has worked well for many. it was a disaster for me. after i was oversupressed on the long lupron protocol, we tried microdose. i did not get any better response as far as the number of follicles went, my estrogen kept rising too rapidly and in the end we ended with 7 immature eggs. but i am sure there are many posters who responded well to it. |

My friend and I were going through IVF during the same time period this past year. I had success with the long lupron proctocol. She did not and for attempt three was switched to the lupron flair. She had close to 10 mature eggs retrieved (vs. <5 each time with long lupron) and best of all, ended up getting pregnant (is due in March).
The logical next step for someone who is suppressed by the long lupron protocol is either the lupron flair protocol or the antagnoist protocol. Different doctors like one vs. the other but both are good for poor responders. |
