Please allow a small brag...

I can't brag about this IRL, and it's not much to brag about really, but for the past 4+ weeks I've been using a calorie counter and haven't missed a day of logging.

It's helped me curtail eating, and I'm losing just about 2 lbs a week - which is right on track, but also feels slow. I have 50 lbs to lose before I'm where I will feel good, and 65'ish to lose to really be where I should. So it's a long road at 2lbs a week.

But, today I put on a pair of pants that had gotten too tight and they fit comfortably! So even with this small, barely 9 lb loss, I'm seeing progress. And for the first time ever I've managed to keep up w/ the daily logging and thoughtful/restrained consumption.

So I'm really proud of myself for sticking with it and just wanted to crow about it somewhere I felt it would be ok.

Thanks for indulging me!

That's great - keep up the good work! Slow and steady wins the race.

Congratulations. I lost at a pound a week pace, which felt like it took ages, but I've been able to keep it off for 19 years so far.

Brag away OP!! Congrats!! Nice job. 2 pounds a week is actually pretty quick, it will probably slow down as you get closer to your goal weight.

And great job tracking !!

That’s great, and it inspires me! Thanks!

I've been tracking for 5 days ... I'll try to catch up with you...

That can be very hard to do. Great job!

OP here, thanks all! I really appreciate it.

Such a nice, supportive little corner of DCUM!

15:22 - I aspire to be you!

7:41 - good luck! What tracker are you using? (I'm on Lose It.)

Brag away, that's awesome! Maybe try and find some non-appearance goals too. You are so much more than the weight on the scale or the size of your pants, I just know it. Not trying to take away from this accomplishment-congrats again!

When I lost my first 9lb, I was very happy the same way. Now after losing 25lb and mostly being able to maintain it for 6 months, I can assure you this trend will make you feel better.

Suggest drinking a lot of water for the next 3 months.

Dp I am on the same journey, my friend! I was wondering have you checked with your doctor on how much you should weigh? The reason I ask is I thought I had to lose more weight but my doctor gave me a higher number. for example, I thought I needed to be 130 but they told me 145. Also, I am tracking too and food is now not as fun or enjoyable. But, this is my life from now on out if I want to be healthy. Have you found the same? Just seeking commiseration, I suppose. So far, I have lost 13 pounds, two every week except last week I lost six pounds which was too much in retrospect.

Congratulations though !
