| I have done a few of the clinics with mixed results. A few have been good but more often then not I am finding the clinics filled with younger kids from lower level clubs. When DD was younger it was very helpful. Has anyone done the DA/ECNL clinic for girls? Have a DD who would be on the older side for the clinic and am wondering if it will composed of all younger players. Also comments on what is worked on during the clinic appreciated. Please only comment if you have knowledge. Not interested in bashing of coaches or clubs associated. TIA |
It might be best to find a coach you and your daughter like and respect and ask them to privately train or semi-privates with other same age girls. If they cannot, they can recommed another coach who will do this. I have found it to be helpful. |
| Can someone explain to me the big deal about HP Elite? Why are they so popular? |
It is a big deal for people who are from clubs that provide little to no individual technical instruction and don’t participate in futsal - or whose brand of futsal amounts to soccer on hardwood. Unfortunately, that’s like 75% of clubs. |
The clinics are fast paced with lots of touches on the ball in a short period of time. The general quality of kids to play against are usually higher than one might find on their regular team practice. Generally all the clinics feature quick pace 2v2's that allow the kids the options for defeating a 1v1 either through their own feet or with a pass. The clinics do a very good job of building confidence in a very fast paced environment. When there are drills that are run via lines they are set up in a way that kids move through the lines very quickly alternating both feet. And on top of it HP provides a ton of balls so that kids are never chasing down balls. There are easily 4 balls for every kid. |
| there are very few options in nothern virginia for large group skills training and classes in the area during the wintertime when you don't want to be outdoors. even fewer options that cater to higher level travel players. |
This shocks me. |
HP elite is terrible - just very good with marketing and very very very young kids |
Exactly how is HP terrible? |
|
OP here - does anyone have insight into this clinic? I was excited when I saw 8 response but it was just debating HP elite. Is anyone able to answer the question? I agree it's better for little kids and those not on a top team.
I was interested in this because 1. indoors during the winter 2. Friday which suits our schedule 3. If they truly only take ECNL/Da players then it might be a talented group of teenagers rather than a bunch of 8-10 year olds |
| Quan here, I am the greatest trainer in the world! Messi and Ronaldo learned the HP Elite way! |
This! It's all about quality touches on the ball which HP Elite provides. If you are looking for instruction, HP is not the answer and you will need pursue private 1-on-1 training which is even more expensive. |
| I see a great business opportunity for some enterprising person. All you need is a website and a couple instructors! |
Uuhhh... his name is Gus and his company is Soccer the Brazilian Way. You ever seen that dudes car? It is a mobile billboard and he drives at 80mph between MD and VA to get from his futsal, to his FCV teams, to his personal training clinics. Yes, there is a market especially for all the parents looking to spend their cash. You need to be a former pro player to charge the higher hourly rates, but a college player can also get some side cash gigs. |
