Cat poop question

Our cat, about 12, has started getting poop stuck in his butt. At first it would be dangling by a few hairs, now it's full-on stuck, half in, half out. Could this be from the clumping kitty litter? Does he need more fat in his diet or what? Anyone's cat have this problem and how did you solve it?

My cat is 18 and uses the clumping litter, and this has not happened to him. I would say ask your vet. Maybe s/he can recommend a supplement.
