I guess this is the right forum. I turn 40 next week and DH is 42. We have a 6 year old who is great. We were one and done from the start, realized a couple years ago we'd both like a second but it was never the right time. We are comfortable financially, both WOH. Honestly a big part of my hesitation is that I'm overweight (BMI 28) as I never lost the baby weight and pregnancy did a number on my pelvic floor. I feel like another pregnancy will be harder, and how can I have a second when I'm already not finding time to work out? But maybe that's shallow.
Anyway, I have a positive OPK here. What would you do in my shoes? |
I'd go for it.
I had my second when my first was (still is) 6. I was 42 and turned 43 a month after baby was born. I did have a MC at 41, but then got pregnant seven months later on our own. Good luck! My new baby is such a joy!!!

Um, that BMI is barely overweight. I thought you were gonna say 40 or something.
Its personally too old for me. Has the potential to throw retirement way off. But it certainly doesn't make you the oldest in DC. I thoigh you were going to say 46.
40 was my cutoff. Got pregnant the cycle before my 40th birthday. She's 4 months now and perfect. Pregnancy was about the same as #1, birth was easier.
