And yet the majority of DC residents have no problem with the Metropolitan Police Department saying it “will not enforce civil immigration laws, which only create a strong divide between the police & community members.”

The particulars of the situation aside, this is precisely the argument many people make when DC residents complaint about their lack representation - just move somewhere else. It's horseshit then, and it's horseshit now.
