After Mirena how long before cycle on track?

Anonymous
I got my Mirena removed 5 days after period. I had a regular cycle on Mirena with periods for the past 6 years; however, I’ve been testing for ovulation and I’m on day 20 now with no luck... anyone have this experience?

Not this experience specifically as I haven't tracked ovulation, but I got my Mirena out and have since had 2 45 day cycles and no idea what's up. I didn't have regular cycles on Mirena though, always sporadic and unpredictable. I thought that was because of the Mirena and would return to normal after taking it out.

I don’t know the answer but after mirena I had a 23 day cycle (ovulated day 13) and then a 37 day cycle (ovulated day 18) before getting pregnant on the next cycle (ovulated day 16).

I also had sporadic and irregular periods while the Mirena was in.

Honestly I can’t even keep track because it’s so light when it even happens!

Just got my Mirena out as well, but I didn't have periods with it, or they were so light I thought it was just breakthrough bleeding.

I'm curious about others though. I keep reading about people who got pregnant right away after getting it out.

OP here I finally got the smiley sign that I will ovulate soon! I recommend using the ovulation trackers if possible because it is hard to pin this down after getting it taken out.

I never had a period while I had the Mirena. I got my period 2 days after it was removed. I had regular cycles from that point and was pregnant 2 months later.

I’ve read that sometimes it depends on how long you have had it in.

Fertility returns pretty much immediately (1-2 months) after getting Mirena out- this is a big advantage of IUDs over other methods (implants, injectables, the pill) where fertility takes longer to return (6 months in many cases). I got mine out in December a few years ago and was pregnant by March (and not trying in Jan/Feb because DH was travelling).
