when we report posts, is it helpful if we specify that someone is a troll, a pest, a liar, etc?

I usually just say "troll" when I report a post, as a sort of catch-all for all those things. But I don't want to end up being a pest myself if that's not how it's easiest or least annoying for you.

Is it helpful for you if we/I say that someone is a troll, a pest, spreading disinformation, is just a chaos agent, etc? Like how specific do you want us to get - versus, just, giving you a heads up that a post seems reportable and that you might want to take a look?

It helps to give a bit of a clue so I know why the post is being reported. But, unless the reason is not obvious, you don't need to say much. I didn't agree with your last report that the poster was a troll. I might have removed it for being off-topic -- it was more appropriate for Website Feedback -- but since there were substantive replies I left it.

The problem, OP, is that your classifying the poster as a troll, pest, what-have-you, is a matter of opinion. I've seen a ridiculous number of posters, mostly conservatives, being called Russians, trolls, bots or whatever for presenting an opposing viewpoint.

Why would I report them? I don't consider people who disagree with me bots and Russians and trolls.

And pointing out what I did to the OP isn't complaining. I don't even see why your response was necessary, other than to give me some snark. Now, see....I consider what YOU did to be a troll. See how that works?

I am a liberal and I report posts, then Jeff deletes them. I do not start threads in the website feedback forum whining about them. See the difference?
