Using "soccer" to assault opposing players

Anyone ever see this happen? Violent aggressive play beyond what could be considered a reasonable part of this sport. Resulted in injury to victim and yellow card given to thug (should have been red).

I won't have my player play against this team again if that player is on field. My player is strong and tough but too bad. This was second contest we have seen this thug is action and first outing was almost as bad. maybe that is rewarding thugs but I don't care as potential injury is not worth making point.

Just venting. I film the player so I have evidence if needed. Uggg. What. Ant players looking for violent physical confrontation take up boxing or ice hockey or something?

yes I agree to some extent.

My DD plays tough soccer, but sometimes there are games which annoy me when other parents are yelling and saying the girls are being rough. Soccer IS a contact sport. Don’t forget that! I’m not say go out and have a fight fight and have a battle Royale but the referee should determine how the game will be.

Been at this a long time. There is play that goes way beyond rough which is why carding exists. Opposing coach also got herself and her loud mouth a card.

In Europe, there can be a payback in response for dirty play, which has a deterrence effect on dirty play. When Pepe deliberately stepped on Messi's hand, next time they played Messi kicked him hard from behind at the first opportunity and happily took a yellow card. American suburban boys are too soft and refs are too lenient to dangerous play, so thugs tend to thrive in this environment, when they can dish out pain and never get meaningful consequence.

Ok. When my dd is getting paid big bucks to play, she can inflict violent payback. Until then I fail to see what the actions of highly paid pro european stars have to do with pay to play kid soccer or school ball.

Yes. Damascus HS in MCPS has had this problem for a long time. They had some especially criminal type of players who did this. I used to film them when they came to play at DS's game. It was condoned by their coaches etc. Anyhow, after they broomstick rapes of their teammates, which was no surprise to many of us, things may have become a bit better. At least some of the violent offenders are no longer there.
