Jeans for my husband

Anonymous
He needs new jeans. I'd like to get him some for Christmas, but I don't know where to start. What look is slightly hip, but still somewhat conservative for an almost 40 father of 2? He never buys new clothes, and is generally content to wear out of date gap jeans and button down shirts almost everywhere. He (and I ) are fine with that, but I know he'd appreciate something new. We don't have a ton of discretionary income, so expensive or even somewhat pricey stuff is out of the question. Thoughts?

Jeans are tricky to fit (esp. the derriere) for men past college years. I'd get a certificate for a professional fitting and purchase at The Denim Bar. They carry tons of stuff at all price points.

go to levi's store in gtown. know his size and ask the salespeople to help you.

other option is banana republic, if he is on the conservative side.

I second Levis. I personally think older guys in designer jeans look a little ridiculous. Levis never go out of style and I think look very sexy on any age man - as long as they fit right.

If he likes Gap jeans, then I would go to the Gap and buy some in his size and style, but perhaps in a dark rinse.

Gap is a good idea.

Be careful with how jeans fit the tush. Nothing worse than baggy butt!

DARK rinse, fitted in the behind. Levis are always sexy on a guy if they are the right kind (not a light rinse, unless summer and he has a great bod and they fit like he has had them forever). I am lucky that my husband looks hot in jeans. I do not, however

My DH likes Gap and Lucky.

My husband just got a great pair at Target and he looks quite dishy in them. They're a dark rinse, slim fit.

My DH + Levis = baggy butt man looking ready for a trip to Home Depot. We have two problems: one is that he's resistant to any more urban rinses, brands, and silhouettes, and the other is that he's allergic to the faintest hint of pressure on his belly, which is just a little out of proportion with the rest of him, leaving baggy butt and thighs and jeans that slip too low. Sigh (and not in a good way).
