camp ideas

I fear that it's time to think about summer camp for my 3 year old dd. Right now she's at a small play-based nursery school that does not host a summer camp. I'm looking for a similarly nurturing environment with lots of arts and crafts and water play, in NWDC or close in MD. Thanks!

We would love to have her in our Junior Explorer Program at Sidwell Summer (3825 Wisconsin Ave., NW) - the Juniors are in a homebase format so she would be with other 3 year olds. The teacher of the 'Red' group - our youngest group, is amazing (works at an area independent school and is fantastic with younger children)! Juniors do a variety of arts & crafts, music, water play, sports, etc. daily - they visit the specialty teachers as a group. The Art teacher that works with the Juniors is wonderful - really talented at teaching the passion of art. Each weekly session has a different theme with a special guest (e.g. Under the Sea comes during the Ocean-theme week, Reptiles Alive during the Rainforest week, etc.).

E-mail or call us for more information - summer@sidwell.edu or 202-537-8133.

As we love to say... Start Thinking Summer!

My kids have gone to Headfirst Camps for years and have truly enjoyed themselves. I believe they have Day Camp for 3 1/2 year olds at their Bethesda location. Check out their website at www.Headfirstcamps.com

Good luck!
