I’m supposed to leave at 5am for a very long biz trip- have a regional
meeting- then two customer fundraising events where I am representing my company. I’m actually gone for 7days as not enough time to travel home in between. Then tonite 4 year old while running in house- slides into cabinet and we just got home from ER. 8 stitches later! Should I cancel first part of business trip? Or wondering with little time to make the call, what to do. My husband and nanny will be here. Stitches come out in 4 days- while I’m gone. |
Your kid is fine. Make sure they stay out of the sun - hats, sunscreen, etc. Go on your trip. |
Don’t cancel for stitches. Stitches aren’t a big deal. You could do the removal at home. Don’t feel like you’re missing out on something by not being here for it. It’s a non event. |
I would not. But I was that kid that had stiches a lot so I don't find them to be a big deal. And I'm a nurse. |
If you trust your nanny/husband to handle a doctor's visit to remove stitches and follow the care guidelines, i wouldn't cancel. Stitches don't need lots of extra care. |
Not for stitches, no. Especially since this sounds like an important trip. In the end, stitches aren't really a big deal. Bring him home something cool from your location. |
And if you don't trust them, you have major issues going on. |
Stitches are NBD. I wouldnt cancel anything for that. In fact it would t have even crossed my mind. |
This sounds like an important trip. .please don't tell me you canceled over 8 stitches. |
As a mom whose kids have bad 3 stitches incidents over the past few years - this is not a big deal at all. Make sure your husband knows when the appointment is for removal and keep neosporin etc on the scar. |
Do you really not trust your husband to be able to handle 8 stitches? |
It's not a big deal.
Keep the wound covered and moist so no scab forms in short-term (helps prevent scarring). Long-term, sunscreen and better yet hats if stitches are on the face. That's it. No big deal. |
It would never even have occurred to me to cancel a business trip over stitches.
|
me either! Unless I was physically still at the ER and my spouse was out of town. go and don't spend a second worrying about it. |
You'll have your husband home AND a nanny. I think you've got it covered, Op. Stop worrying and go! |
