Exact opposite of MoCo

Instead of throwing lots of money at companies in competition with other jurisdictions in Northern Virginia, they're getting together to throw potentially even more money at companies in competition with other metropolitan areas like Boston or Silicon Valley?

I don't call that winning.

If they stopped playing the throwing-money-at-companies game altogether, and instead invested the money into making life better for their residents (schools, transit, clean air/water, housing), that would be winning.

Congratulations, NoVa, on finally renaming Jefferson Davis Highway. We can only watch with admiration from MoCo.

Have you guys figured out how to let mix races marry without 23 and me tests?

Take note MoCo leaders. That's called winning.

There's nothing MoCo can do now. The average education level of the population is on a downtrend compared to NoVA. Tech companies need educated employees more than they need anything else.

MoCo, PG, and Howard need to get together. Doubt MoCo will participate though.

Nobody wants to be London county.

Moco has the biotech industry.

Lol. Love how the biotech industry gets constantly pimped by moconites. Outside of medimmune, MDs biotech is quite underwhelming.

I have a feeling you don't understand economics. Virginia didn't throw away money. It forfeited some future tax revenue. The money never existed to spend on something else.

Anyone else skeptical that this partnership will work long term? Kumbaya..

Who cares? At least they're trying. The only thing MoCo tries to do is lose or grow no jobs, spend find of money they don't have, and run up huge budget deficits. What exactly is MoCo attempting in order to generate jobs with a clown like Erlich in office and all of the old liberal NIMBYS in MoCo who block progress because they already got theirs.

Congratulations - your're on your way to SV housing prices and more traffic. BTW I left SV several years ago. I miss a lot of things about that area, but not the traffic and housing prices.

My DH was reading something the other day about having to put your race down on the marriage license. WTF? I'm not SJW, but how much effort does it take to remove this from the license? Crazy.. in 2019.

Sadly, this is true. And I say this as a MoCo resident.

Last year 20% of our high school students missed 15 days or more of school. And on the days that 20% IS in school, they’re dragging down the rest of the kids around them.

At least with Amazon, didn’t MoCo through magnitudes more $ at Amazon and still lose?

I don’t know what this specific article is about because of the paywall.
