The overwhelming majority in the "most worthwhile toy" thread voted play kitchen. So, recommend a play kitchen! |
My recommendation is buying one used, putting those together is so time consuming. |
We loved our play kitchen from IKEA. |
This is by far the best one I’ve seen. ( It’s way better than the expensive pottery barn ones or the mid range ones on target or amazon.) |
If you want to go smaller, we bought an awesome one sized for 18 inch dolls at Target a few years ago. A lot of little functioning doors, knobs, racks, etc., and a lot of accessories to go with it. |
Love the IKEA play kitchen. We have it in a very small room in a very small house and it’s fine. Took 2 hours to put together. Not terrible. |
Another vote for ikea! Except it doesn't have a "fridge" if your kids care. Also another vote for BUY USED because your kids won't care and because then you don't have to assemble. |
We have a kid Kraft kitchen and love the fridge for storing all the toys. |
I love our Step 2 kitchen. Purchased when my son was 2. He is now almost 10. We got wonderful use out of it and still do bc now my daughter, age 6, plays with it. |
Definitely buy used to avoid assembly and it’s cheaper + better for the environment too. I like the kidkraft ones—cute and have great storage for all the play food and dishes |
We got something from Target that was a big hit for years.
Buying toy food and toy kitchenware made holiday/bday presents easy for a while. |
IKEA. Still loved 5 years later and on kid #3. |
DD really loved her Hape play kitchen; we chose it because she was petite and the lower height suited her. She also really liked her friend’s IKEA kitchen. |
Another vote for the IKEA play kitchen. |
Ikea. No competition. Small scale, affordable, and aesthetically pleasing which is good if kids don't have a separate play space. Height is adjustable, so it works easily for 5+ years and multiple kids. |
