Care.com backup care?

Wondering if anyone has used Care.com’s backup care feature and if you have any feedback. It’s our first year with two kids in daycare so there’s a good chance we’ll need backup care this winter! I have used Care.com for a while now to find babysitters, but I find the site fairly user-unfriendly, and I’ve started using another babysitting site that I far prefer. So I’m thinking of canceling our Care.com membership, but I’m hesitating in case the backup care offerings are useful!

Ugh, care.com is not good. But if you’ve had a good experience with it, give it a try. You’ll get more professional and reliable care through an agency. But I would be interested to hear of people’s experience with it.

I used it as a part of an employee benefit for years until I left that organization. It was relatively easy to use and very affordable (our benefit allowed for $10/day for backup daycare and $6/hr for in-home care). Not sure what the rates are on an individual basis. I always used the daycare option and would usually end up at a kindercare location. I planned to do in-home care once, but my plans changed and I had to cancel. Pay attention to their cancellation policy - if you cancel for in-home care there is a fee. There's only a fee for cancelling out of home daycare if you cancel less than 24 hours before.
