I am 12 DPO. I have been having some brown discharge/blood/?? for 2-3 days now. It is not enough to really make it to my underwear (sorry if TMI), but seems to be enough that when I wipe before going to the bathroom it is there almost every time. Then when I have a BM (again sorry if TMI) there is enough that a little bit makes it into the toilet. It has not gotten more or less since it started and it is brown, not red. However, it seems like more than spotting and more liquidy (not a word) than blood.
Does this sound like it could be implantation bleeding or is this a very slow introduction to AF. I took a test at 10DPO before this started and it was negative. I haven't tested again, mainly b/c I keep thinking this is AF but it never gets heavier! Anyone experience anything like this? Thanks! |

Well...I would preface this statement with a quote from my RE..."Any bleeding between transfer and positive blood test we call implantation bleeding, for lack of a better term"
But in my case, I had a full on red flow (probably about 1-2 tbl spoons) on the equivalent of 13 days post ovulation (8dp5dt). I thought I was out. Called to see if I should discontinue progesterone and other meds. I had just had LP bloodwork that day, and the nurse told me that there was NO WAY this was my period because my hormone levels were so high. My blood test was 7 days later on the equivalent of 20 dpo...I was very pregnant...over 4000 hcg. So that is my experience with implantation bleeding. |
| implantation bleeding is a tricky thing. some say its rare to non-existent, but if you peruse the various fertility blogs and boards such as this one, it seems that it is a very common symptom. I started spotting brown a few days before my period about 3 cycles ago. Doc checked me out and said everything was fine, the body just acts weird sometimes. With that being said, to be on the safe side, act like your pregnant until the blood test comes back negative. |

You can have some light bleeding, painful cramps, and still come back as positive. Best of luck |
| Sounds like implantation bleeding to me! I've had 2 pregnancies and had it both times. First time had pretty significant amount of pinkish-red blood (enough to go to the doc and ask why I'm having a freaky period 3 weeks after my last one...). The second time was exactly like you describe. Brownish discharge that is worse w/a BM. For me this actually lasted through the entire first tirmester. It totally freaked me out, but my OB kept checking and everything was fine. (And now I have a 2 year old...) |
| I had similar bleeding like that with my second pregnancy. It was light, but there was enough of it that I thought it *might* be a period. I also can never get a positive pregnancy test until I'm at least 13DPO. So I'd say pee on another stick!! |
| I had the same experiences with both of my pregnancies, the second 'bleeding' lasted on and off for four weeks. nothing heavy and almost always light brown. My doctor said that the body also sheds old blood and that it's extremely common in pregnant women. I'd say take another test in a day or so! Best wishes! |
