OK, if you ever watched the Brady Bunch: this show is awesome.
Recreating every single room with immaculate detail. |
| Ohhh, I recorded it. Will watch it with my kids tonight. |
It's a series. They have at least 3 episodes (hard to tell). Last night they did the living room, dining room, and staircase (and the exteriors). |
|
DH and I grew up watching the Brady Bunch, and we really enjoyed the show! I couldn't believe the detail they went to (i.e. laying out the stone wall in the foyer just like the one on the show).
I can't wait for the girl's bedroom to be done! I loved that pink and blue flowered wallpaper, when I was a child! |
| We watched one episode and found it really boring! What are you liking about it? |
| What's the point of recreating the exact same space? |
|
OP here. Maybe it is just because I watched it so often. To me it is interesting to just try to recreate something with such attention to detail. Plus of course the Brady kids are doing it.
|
| I thought it was pretty cool. I think the plan is that once it is renovated they are going to charge people to walk through it. If I am right about that I think they will make a lot of money. |
| I’m of the Brady generation and watched the first hour. Fun and nostalgic but I don’t really need to see more. |
I'm the PP who found it boring - I guess just to show the skill and attention to detail in doing it, along with the Brady kids? It's hard to imagine what you *do* with that house afterwards. If it were a museum ok - otherwise, haven't you just wasted a ton of resources doing renovations which make the house not very appealing to most buyers, who will have to spend a ton more re-renovating the house? I feel so bah humbug about this show. I'm open to being convinced it's a better idea than what I saw in that first ep tho |
|
^^ Did you watch “The Brady Bunch” growing up?
Because if you did - then you may understand the house appeal more. As a small child, that was my favorite show by far. And the Brady home was my absolute “Dream” home.
|
New PP here, born in 1969 and the Brady Bunch was basically my babysitter (latchkey kid). I am trying to enjoy the show but honestly, I think it’s boring and don’t see the point. |

PP Here:
I also was born in 1969 and The Brady Bunch was my unicorn ultimate fantasy show. I dreamed of having Cindy’s adorable curly pig tails. I wished for a ton of siblings. I also always wished that I had a staircase in my house because I just thought staircases were cool + fun! The Brady’s always seemed to be having a great time in everything they did - Especially once they started a singing group together! And of course, I would have given anything for my dog to have his own dog house in the backyard! |

Loved it! Except for the canned cast "musings" and sudden memories. "It's like I can feel Bob walking through that door," etc. Which could be a genuine thought, but on the show, it seemed forced, especially knowing they probably redid the scene a few times.
Still, cool to see the house being restored (and yes, I watched it a lot growing up!) and also nice that the full surviving cast wanted to be included, and had only positive things to say about the ones who have passed on. No swapping out Aunt Vivs on this show! (although, Robbie seems to have been forgotten about...) |
Yes, I did! I'm 46 years old, so have very fond memories of the Brady Bunch. |
