MDIPA and Columbia Fertility

Has anyone recently done IVF at Columbia Fertility with MDIPA insurance? What is the negotiated rate that you paid out of pocket? TIA

I don't know what MDIPA is but I had BCBS with IVF coverage. I went through Columbia fertility. For everything related to egg retrieval, their customary charge is $11,750. According to my explanation of benefits (EOB) statement, the negotiated rate was $1,961.27 of which I had to pay $15.00. For embryo transfer, their customary charge for all the expenses is $6500. According to my EOB, the negotiated rate was $384.27 of which I had to pay $15.00. Columbia asked me for a deposit of $3400 up front to cover storage, thaw, and all these other misc. fees not covered by insurance. That $3400 deposit covered 2 fresh IVF cycles and 1 frozen embryo transfer.

On a side note, it breaks my heart to see them charge those without adequate coverage such exorbitant charges when they can do the job for much less as evidenced by the insurance negotiated rate. I would have never been able to afford IVF without insurance.
