Oh my yes, it's insanely political. That's not to say that the national teams don't have good players, but great players who should be there get overlooked if they don't have the right connections.

It’s always been this way. A part of the reason are USMNT has always sucked. DA is similar, btw.

And so is the ECNL. Politics seems to find its way anywhere there is a consolidation of power.
