I only know about the percentiles for the Big 3 but, never get info for others. What percentiles are considered to be in the target range for athletes to these schools? |
SJ and Gonzaga use the HSPT. |
1386 for GP (https://www.gprep.org/about/fast-facts). |
I don’t think The “Big 3” don’t publish percentiles. To what are you referring? |
SSAT not SAT |
As a pp said, Gonzaga and SJC take the HSPT not the SSAT. It is given by the Catholic schools and easier than the SSAT, although still hard and definitely not a cake walk. Kids often take prep courses to prepare for it ahead of time.
Georgetown Prep takes the SSAT just like other independent schools. They like to see a solid score (just like the other top schools), but look at the whole application (just like the other top schools). I know several boys with mid-80s who were accepted. I also know kids with mid-80s who were not, so it depends on the whole application and child (just like the other top schools). |
Oh dear here we go. Mid 80s average is a very very high score. This combined with grades will get you in Sidwell. Most kids in DMV have a combined in 70s. Some even 60s. I hate when people try to freak people out. |
The average SSAT percentile for GP was in the 60th percentile. Dont let people tell you otherwise. |
Op here, i accidently left out HSPT as well. I am looking for the average targeted score for the schools i have listed. |
They don’t publish this info, and of course they look at the full picture including grades and recommendations, but I would say mid to high 80s for percentile for these schools on the HSPT. |
For verbal and reading I believe it is higher but Math is significantly lower. I know boys who were in Pre-Algebra in MS who got in this year |
This information is posted on GP's website that the average percentile was 60%. Once again, those who want to instil fear speak from ignorance on here. |
My son attends Prep. He scored in the mid-80s on the SSAT and mid-90s on HSPT (although they don't look at those scores). He also got into Gonzaga and SJC Scholars. Other classmates had similar scores and got into the same schools, among others. I would argue their scores are not out of the norm, meaning sure some kids score lower and some score higher, but plenty score in the mid-80s. |
And mommy and daddy buying a wing of a building and being members of the country club and ... (Mostly talking about prep here...) |
And being a large or fast kid for the football team or on a travel baseball or lacrosse team or... |
