Rec a great Pediatric orthopedic for leg injury

Anonymous
My 3 yr old had fallen and is now limping on his leg. He previously injured it about a year ago so it is same weak leg. We weren’t impressed with care at Pediatric specialists of Virginia. Looking to find somewhere highly recommended. Thanks l.

Dr. George Gantsoudes. I don't know if he specializes in legs, but he's a great pediatric ortho.

Dr. Holden

Op here. I tried to get an appointment with Gansudes and she said that he doesn’t see issues that could involve feet.

Get to Childrens national ER room ASAP for X-ray and diagnosis. They poached a bunch of ped orthos so just get going. If it is an actual break or displaced fracture hopefully they can set it ASAP and. Not have to rebreak it to set it.

Good luck.

Limping child = ER room

You can call around but if you don’t get a same day appointment go to the ER room.

Skip the Urgi ortho places as they don’t do kids and growth plate stuff well.

Actually PM Pediatrics always has a board certified pediatric emergency attending on call (and usually in house). When my 5 month old broke his femur, they were great. Referred us to a great ped ortho for a same day appointment. Healed perfectly (2 years on, no issues) and went to some length to try to avoid a spica cast (our request).

When your kid is limping, you don’t need to start with a ped ortho. This is why medical costs in this country are out of control.
