I am looking at entering the lottery for both of the above schools. My child will be entering pre-k 3
Sept 2010. Can anyone provide feedback ? It would be especially helpful to hear from parents who have children currently attending one of these schools. Thanks ! |
If you are in need of aftercare, don't forget to check the prices-that is if cost is an issue for you. Some schools aftercare are extremely high. Often this information is not automatically given to you. At least that has been my experience with some schools. |
I have a friend whose DS is at Two Rivers. She's extremely happy with it. There are some SERIOUSLY dedicated parents at the school - in terms of their time, their involvement, and their ability to raise funds. There aren't very many slots per year, so it actually feels pretty small in that most of these students will be in school together all the way to 8th grade. Younger siblings and staff children get preference in the lottery, so I would make back-up plans, it's a very popular school. Good luck. |
OP Here,
Actually, Two Rivers IS my backup plan, LOL. I have four other schools that are ahead of it in terms of my priority list... |
I also have heard outstanding things about Two Rivers. |
My friend is happy with Two Rivers for elementary school. Not so happy about middle school.

My understanding is that it is ok for lower grades. There are some real discipline problems though and apparently the administration isn't particularly interested in addressing bullying, etc...
A big chunk of the 5th grade class left for Washington Latin this year. |
Ditto the above. Early grades are great, and hopefully the disruptive kids will phase out as the older grades graduate. Bullies at TR have all sorts of accommodation/opportunities.
Also, Everyday Math isn't for everyone - some kids and parents struggle with it. That said, you'd be lucky to get in - there are very few slots for pk3. |
