Honda Passport, and why the Pilot of so much more popular

Anonymous
I really like the look and size of the Passport, but I'm hesitant to go with one because I rarely see them on the road (but I see SO many Honda Pilots).
The Pilot is bigger (3rd row), but I feel as though the Passport is plenty big. Is there something to "beware" of with the Passport?

I think it’s just because the current model of Pilot has been out for 3 (or 4) years. This was the first year of the Passport so there are just less sold.

They literally just came out. That’s why you haven’t seen many.

What's the passport??

For a young family of 4 or more, the Pilot just makes more sense especially with the captain's seats and third row. If you're looking for something more rugged with tow capacity, the Passport makes more sense. DMV suburbs are mostly families so that's probably why you see more Pilots.

I think most people have a car and then a bigger SUV/van. Thus people are looking for 7 seats in their bigger car for car pooling and guests.

The Passport is new and not many yet on the road.
That said, this is America, so we will always buy the bigger model: the Pilot.
